Colocation Firm Latisys Names Data Center Operations Manager

(WEB HOST INDUSTRY REVIEW) -- Colocation and managed hosting provider Latisys (www.latisys.com) announced on Thursday it has appointed Robert Martin as data center operations manager in Orange County.

The announcement comes a day after Latisys revealed that it is constructing its second data center in Irvine, California.

As data center operations manager, Martin will manage day-to-day operations for the company's existing SAS 70 Type II compliant data center in Irvine, California.

He will also manage operations for the new 93,000 square foot, Tier 3 data center which is expected to be ready for customer installations in the second quarter of 2011.

Martin brings to Latisys more than a decade of data center operations experience.

He most recently served as manager of operations for Savvis' Irvine data center, where he was responsible for managing large-scale IT infrastructure for Orange County enterprises and service providers.
