Latisys Selects Syska Hennessy Construction for Chicago Data Center Expansion

65,000 square-foot raised floor center expansion led by highly experienced firm for colocation, managed hosting, and high density deployments

FAIRFAX, Va. (Jan. 12, 2009) -- Latisys Corp., a leading operator of state-of-the-art data centers in Tier I and Tier II markets, announced today that it has hired Syska Hennessy Group Construction, Inc. to design, engineer and construct the significant expansion and upgrade of its recently acquired, 86,000 square-foot data center in Oak Brook, Ill., that operates under the Latisys-Chicago name. In selecting Syska Hennessy, Latisys Corp. expects its Chicago data center to remain poised to incorporate the most efficient, flexible and modern design that accommocates current and evolving customer requirements.

The current phase of expansion is nearly complete, bringing 13,000 square feet of usable space online. It supplements the 16,000 square feet of raised floor currently available, designed to provide precision cooling for mid-to high-density customer requirements in a secure environment. The 13,000 square-foot expansion adds approximately 7 megawatts of critical power to the facility and makes availble a full suite of managed services. At full build-out early this year, the expansion will give the data center over 65,000 square feet of usable floor space, all with power, environmental, and network redundancy.
