National Safety Council Selects Latisys for Managed Hosting Solution
Flexibility, Scalability, Cited as Key Criteria in IT Outsourcing Decision
Englewood, CO, July 31, 2012 — Latisys, a leading national provider of outsourced IT solutions delivered on a high density, high security platform – from colocation to cloud – today announced a managed IT infrastructure services agreement with the National Safety Council.
Under terms of the new IT services agreement, Latisys is providing the National Safety Council with a fully managed solution via Latisys’ Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS) platform. The National Safety Council implementation features a primary production site hosted in Latisys’ SOC 2 and SOC 3 audited data center in Chicago. It provides virtualized compute, storage, load balancing, security, and back up, with blended IP for their MPLS network.
“To further advance the NSC mission of saving lives and preventing injuries, we recognized the opportunity to significantly reduce capital expenditure, expand our bandwidth and improve performance by outsourcing our IT infrastructure to a predictable, managed hosting model,” said Linda Swift, Chief Information Officer for the National Safety Council. “Latisys worked closely with us to design a flexible and scalable solution optimized to our needs, particularly for managing compute resources and virtualizing our new enterprise resource planning (ERP) system.”
“It is very rewarding to see an organization like the National Safety Council embrace technology to support a noble mission that directly benefits society,” said Pete Stevenson, Chief Executive Officer, Latisys. “We look forward to working together as a trusted partner to provide an innovative, scalable solution platform to meet the Council’s current and future business needs.”
Latisys’ data center platform is now operated under SOC 2 Type 2 and SOC 3 audited controls. This replaces the SAS 70 guidebook and reaffirms Latisys’ commitment to meet the highest standards for availability and security, while making sure all of the appropriate controls and safeguards are firmly in place.
Earlier this year, Latisys announced that it is adding 72,000 square feet of highly secure, high density, carrier grade IT infrastructure space along with significant power upgrades. Latisys’ total data center platform now exceeds 343,000 square feet across seven data centers in four major markets.
